Phil MillerFrom 29 April 2008
Born in 1970 in Kent, England. Currently lives in London. Phil is a freelance artist/ award winning photograph and filmmaker and a freelance photographer and camera operator.
He started his career working at the Marquee club, where he started to film bands. Then his interest for film and photography grew. He worked for various television companies, which include Sky, the BBC, Channel 4, working as director/ camera operator. He moved into photography in the last few years and has had three solo exhibitions. Phil won the BBC London Photographic Competition 2004. He has exhibited his work in London and at the Cannes Film Festival in 2007.
His works draw on inanimate objects and landscapes. Original photographs and artwork, which in turn are married together by using projections and multiple exposures to form the final print. Phil creates layers of everyday images, which when together produce an explosion of vibrant colour generating energy and movement.
The photographs establish a depth, which draws the viewer in, each showing a different adventure, reflecting a different aspect of life. They are not just snapshots but short stories, mini movies, a snippet of real life. You feel you are watching a microcosm of universal life, each time noticing something new.
Phil also produced images for a nationwide campaign for the organic supermarket Fresh and Wild, which are still currently being displayed throughout their stores. He produced a portrait of Director Anthony Minghella, which was published in Screen International. Phil produced images for the Portman Group for their Don't Do Drunk ad campaigns published in Creative Review and the press during 2004-2005. |
